Ingredients

2 15-ounce cans of kidney beans, rinsed

4-6 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 + 1/8 cups no salt added tomato sauce

2 teaspoons cumin

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/8 cup water

Preparation

Place all ingrediants in a medium pot over low to medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Stir often. Turn off heat and mash the beans with a masher or fork.

Use these beans to: –roll up in several layers of romaine lettuce leaves –stuff into steamed or raw red/green peppers –use as a topping for a salad. Or also add a small amount of no salt/no oil corn chips with plenty of tomatoes for a taco salad treat.
