Ingredients
(cookie dough)
1 C. sugar
½ C. butter
1 egg
2 C. flour
½ C. cocoa
1 t. baking soda
¼ t. salt
½ C. buttermilk (or add ½ t. vinegar to regular milk and let sit out for 15 minutes)
½ C. water
(filling)
1 C. powdered sugar
1 egg white
1 t. vanilla
1 C. powdered sugar
¾ C. butter
Preparation
(for cookie) Cream together first three ingredients.
Sift together next four ingredients. Combine creamed ingredients with liquids and then mix into dry ingredients.
Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
(filling) Beat together the first three ingredients. Then add the remaining ingredients and really beat them.
Spread filling between cookies.
