Ingredients

1 1/2 cups seedless raisins (light)

1/2 cup candied peel

1/2 cup cherries

nuts

16 tbs. butter with salt. (Do not use margarine)

1 1/4 cups white sugar

4 eggs, beaten

2 cups and 3 tbs. flour (all-purpose)

1 tsp Baking Powder

2/3 tsp. salt

Juice of one orange, and 1 lemon

Preparation

Scald raisins, let stand 10 minutes, drain and let dry. Put your fruit, raisins, peel, cherries and nuts in one bowl. Measure and sift dry ingredients 2-3 times. Use 1/4 of this mixture to coat fruit and nuts. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add fruit juice, beat. Add sifted dry ingredients alternatively with eggs, creaming well after each addition. Fold in fruit mix. Bake in a regular size bread pan at 275 for 3 hours. Test.
