Ingredients

Serves four:

Four ahi tuna steaks(sushimi grade).

Four tbsp softened butter.

Four tsp wasabi paste(japanese horseradish paste).

One third cup roasted sesame seeds.

Two tsp peanut oil.

Preparation

  1. Mix softened butter and two tsp wasabi paste. Separate into four patties and refrigirate for at least 1/2 hour or untill hardened.

2.Coat the four ahi steaks with the remaining wasabi paste - use additional paste if needed to completely cover both sides of the fish.

3.Spread the sesame seeds on a flat dish and coat both sides of the ahi steaks with the seeds. Use as many sesame seeds as needed to completely cover fish.

4.Heat peanut oil in a heavy skillet until starting to smoke. Sear steaks no more than one minute to a side.

5.Serve ahi steaks with a patty of the refrigerated wasabi butter on top of each.
