Ingredients

3 lemons

2 cups of sugar

1/2 gallon of red wine (burgunday)

1/2 Brandy

10 whole cloves

8 cinnamon sticks

Large Kettle

In a large kettle combine sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and 4 cups of water.

Boil uncovered for 5 minutes and then remove from heat.

Add lemons and let stand, covered for 15 minutes.

Lift out cloves and cinnamon stick.

Add Brandy and Wine

Simmer until warm and serve.

Save extra cinnamon sticks for garnish.
