Ingredients
8 cups rolled oats (old-fashioned not quick)
2 cups chopped walnuts
1 cup of canola oil
1 cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla
Preparation
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add liquid ingredients and stir to ensure all pieces are covered.
Pour into two 9x12 baking pans and bake for 1 hour at 350°. At 30 minute mark stir all.
Keys to the baking process are making sure you turn everything especially around the edges.
Notes: I have used almonds and pecans but have like walnuts the best. You can use what you like.
Use real maple syrup! Not using the real thing means you end up with a goopy mess.
