Ingredients
2.5 oz basting oil
5 tsp cinnamon
3 tsp curry powder
2 tsp garlic flakes
2 tsp basil flakes
1 cup arborio risotto
4.25 cups water
Preparation
Heat 4.25 cups of water in a small saucepan to a simmer.
Heat a medium sized saucepan to medium-high and add 1 cup arborio risotto. Immediately add 1 cup simmering water.
Stir the rice until the water is absorbed, being careful not to burn the risotto (3 or 4 minutes). When it begins to take on a slightly creamy texture, add 1 cup simmering water and 2.5 oz basting oil.
Add 2 tsp garlic flakes, 2 tsp basil flakes, and 4 tsp extra virgin olive oil to the simmering water. Stir the rice until the water is absorbed (5 minutes). . At this point, the risotto should take on a creamy character. Add 1 cup simmering water mix and 3 tsp curry powder.
Add 5 tsp cinnamon to the simmering water mix. Stir risotto until the water is absorbed (about 5 minutes). It should be very creamy and viscous at the point. Add the remaining simmering water mix.
Stir risotto for approximately 5 minutes, or until most of the water is visibly absorbed. The risotto should be very creamy and slow to pour out of the sauce pan – that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. Enjoy!
